How to start AI character chat, play stories with friends, create your own cast and understand feature costs.
What is Plotto?
Plotto is an AI character chat and interactive story platform. Chat one-on-one with a standalone character, or choose a role in a story with several AI characters. You can create characters and stories, play solo, or invite friends into eligible vacant roles in the same story room.
Is Plotto free to use?
Basic multi-character AI chat inside story rooms is free with no message limit. Room creation or renewal, standalone character chat, paid models and extra features may cost coins or require payment. Daily check-in rewards must be claimed; check the current amount and any price shown before confirming an action.
Does Plotto support multiple AI characters in one story?
Yes. In a story room, several AI characters share the setting and character relationships. You write dialogue or actions for your role, and the AI can respond as other members of the cast. Which characters reply depends on the conversation; every character does not necessarily reply to every message.
Can real friends join the same roleplay story?
Yes—join the same story room to share its progress. When creating a room, choose your role, assign AI roles and leave roles open for friends. Check whether joining is allowed directly, requires approval or is disabled, then share the room. Friends can take eligible vacant roles; opening the same story separately creates a different experience.
Can I create my own AI characters and roleplay scenarios?
Yes. You can create an original AI character with a name, appearance, personality, backstory, relationships, speaking style, first message, and voice. You can also build reusable roleplay scenarios with a world setting, playable roles, hidden story information, character connections, and an opening scene. Public creations can be discovered and experienced by other Plotto users.
Does Plotto support AI voice and images?
AI characters can reply with images, and supported message controls let you hear AI text read aloud. Available tools and their costs depend on the client and feature you use. Reading a message aloud is not a live AI voice call; community voice rooms are a separate social feature.
Can I use Plotto in a browser?
You can use Plotto in a browser through the separate Web App. This website introduces the features and provides guides; character chats and story rooms take place in the Web App or the iOS and Android apps. Use the Try Plotto link to open the Web App. Access and download options can vary by device and region.
What languages does Plotto support?
This website offers 7 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Malay. The Web App currently offers English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. Language options in other clients may differ.
Can I chat one-on-one with an AI character?
Yes. Choose a standalone character, read the introduction and use its chat entry after signing in. You can set your own persona and relationship, then respond to the greeting in your own words. This is a one-on-one character conversation; playing with a cast or inviting friends happens in a story room.
Does Plotto have posts, groups, and voice rooms?
Yes. Plotto brings AI chat and interactive story fans together in a social community. Users can share text, photos, videos, characters, and stories in community posts. Follow people with shared interests, make friends in user-created voice rooms, and keep talking in private messages or group chats. Groups are also a place to discuss stories and find people to explore them with.
How do creator rewards and auctions work?
Eligible public characters and roleplay scenarios can generate in-app coin rewards when other users experience them. Plotto also includes an in-app auction system where eligible creative assets can be listed and bid on under the current auction rules. Rewards are virtual in-app value rather than a promise of cash income, and availability or terms may vary by account and region.
Does Plotto support NSFW or adult AI roleplay?
Plotto supports NSFW and adult-oriented AI roleplay for eligible adult users where that content is permitted. Access is restricted to users aged 18 or older and may depend on local law, platform rules, regional availability, and in-app safety controls. Content involving minors, exploitation, non-consensual abuse, or illegal activity is not allowed. Users should follow the current Plotto content policy and the laws that apply in their location.
